About

Athletes In Action is a community of student athletes

who desire to grow in their understanding of God

and to make an impact at NIU, in our community, and around the world.

Large Group

Get some perspective on college, athletics, and the things that really matter most in life.  We hear  from coaches, student athletes, pastors, AIA staff, and others who will keep before us the vision of making our lives really count.  We look to the Bible as our guide and we talkabout how our faith in God strengthens & sustains us in every area of our lives.  Large Group meets every other Tuesday from 9-10pm upstairs in the Yordon Center.

Small Group

Small Group meets for the purpose of deeper discussion on how to grow in our faith. We interact over issues that relate to us as student athletes and seek to better understand God and His purposes.  Small Group meets every other Tuesday at 9pm upstairs in the Yordon Center.

Team Bible Studies

Think about how much time you spend with your teammates on a given week…ten? … Twenty? … Thirty hours?  With all the time that you spend with one another how much of that time is spent talking about some of the things that really matter most in life?  Are you looking for the opportunity to talk with your teammates about your faith and how God has made a difference in your life?  We have several team Bible studies that meet for the purpose of helping ones teammates learn more about Jesus Christ and why he is so important to us.

Service Projects

Athletes in Action is always looking for ways to help those in need. We partner with several nonprofit organizations in Dekalb County as well as help provide aid to those living in countries stricken by poverty. Our service projects focus on helping the less fortunate, mentoring kids, and relief trips.  Most of our service projects count towards credit for Challenge of Champions so get ready to Take Action.  Stop by Large Group (or contact) to find out details of upcoming Service Projects.
